Happy Birthday, Jack!

Well, today was the day . . . our "baby" turned one! It was a busy and fun day filled with firsts and lots of experiences. We tried to document as much as possible so that Jack can look back on this one day and complain about the way we chose to spend his first birthday! He got to open one present before leaving the house and of course he was more interested in the paper! Today was also the first day he got to ride in his car seat facing forward and you know, I don't think it really made a difference to him either way! He had a party at Ms. Sandra's with all the other kids and got to taste his first cupcake. After dinner, Jack got to open a couple more presents and it seems like the puzzle was a big hit! Overall it was a great first birthday - definitely one to remember.

Here are two of the last pictures taken of Jack before the big day. These were the night before as he was getting ready to go to bed.

Opening the first present of the day . . .

. . . obviously the paper is still more exciting than the actual gift!

Getting ready to ride facing forward for the first time.

Once he had his blanket, the fingers went in his mouth, and it was pretty much like any other ride to school in the mornings. Except I looked in the backseat way too much during the drive!

Party time at Ms. Sandra's! Everyone else seemed to like the party hats, except for Jack. He decided he would rather take his off and play with the elastic strap. Ahh . . . good times!

Here's a picture of the "big kids:" Emma, Jack, Noah, Gralynn, & Will.

YUMMY!!

Time for more presents. But first, Jack let us know he wanted to wear his hat.

He's not quite sure what to make of the present that started making noise.
Still, the puzzle is definitely the winner.
Just a little flashback . . . Here are a few pictures taken exactly a year ago today. What an amazing year!

The series of photographs are just amazing. Jack is so cute and adorable. This would be such a great document to preserve.
