We've really stressed the importance of saying "please" every time Jack asks for something. He seems to have forgotten his manners lately, so we've had to do a little reminding. Yesterday, the kids were playing downstairs and then headed up the stairs together. I got up to follow them and this is the conversation that followed:
Me: Where are you going?
Jack: I go read books with Anna. You go away!
Me: Jack, that's not really very nice (implying it's not nice to tell your mother to go away, especially when you're two)!
Jack: (in his sweetest voice) Mama, go away please.
Hmmm . . . .
